Crown Jewel

WWE has released a statement on the ongoing situation with Saudi Arabia and their Crown Jewel event: “We are currently monitoring the situation.”

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE has backup plans in case the show doesn’t happen.

WWE World Cup

John Cena was the first to be confirmed for the one-night 8-man tournament at Crown Jewel. Kurt Angle then qualified this week when he won a battle royal while dressed as the Conquistador. Randy Orton beat the Big Show and Jeff Hardy beat Samoa Joe to qualify this week as well. Shinsuke Nakamura will face the returning Rey Mysterio coming up on Smackdown 1000 next week.

Kevin Owens Injured

Kevin Owens will require knee surgery and is out of action. It’s unknown how long he’ll be out for. They will determine the damage once they operate. He had knee surgeries in 2015 and 2017 as well. He will be replaced by Bobby Roode in the Mixed Match Challenge.

Bella Twins Turn On Ronda Rousey

The big angle from Monday night was the Bella Twins turning on Ronda Rousey. It was later announced that Nikki Bella will challenge for Rousey’s Raw Women’s Championship at Evolution on October 28th, 2018.

Change To Legends Match At WWE Evolution

Instead of having separate matches at Evolution, returning legends Trish Stratus and Lita will team up to take on Mickie James and Lita. The change was made official during a segment on this week’s Raw.

Rey Mysterio Working A Regular Schedule

Rey Mysterio is scheduled to appear on several upcoming events in addition to his return at Smackdown 1000. So he will be on house shows as part of his new 2-year deal with the company.

Matt Hardy Releases Teaser For Broken Universe

Matt Hardy is working on a WWE Network special. He released this teaser for it on his YouTube channel:

Becky Lynch Working Injured

Becky Lynch revealed this week on social media that she’s been working with a cracked jaw.

Mike and Maria Kanellis Debut On 205 Live

A slimmed down Mike Kanellis pushed Lince Dorado off the top rope on 205 Live this week, causing a no-contest to his match with Lio Rush.

Sasha Banks

Banks has been booked for upcoming live events. She is said to have been dealing with a back injury but that is not confirmed.
