As we head into 2019, the Elite are leaving Ring of Honor and their future in New Japan Pro Wrestling is not clear either. Wrestling fans are simply waiting on an All Elite Wrestling announcement in January. Only then will we know how big a deal AEW will be in the new year and how likely it is we see them back in NJPW next year.
One question which remains, however, is if NJPW will be willing to work with the Elite if they are starting their own promotion, especially one with a television deal in the United States. If NJPW and AEW do work together next year, what does that mean for the ROH-NJPW talent-sharing arrangement which has been so beneficial to ROH these last few years?
Edit: A commenter on YouTube noted that the Young Bucks paid for their 1st class flight upgrade themselves…
Will All Elite Wrestlers Work For NJPW In 2019?
The issue was addressed recently by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“Obviously, both AEW and ROH will want a business relationship with New Japan,”
“New Japan has blocked its talent from working for Impact, even though Don Callis is an announcer for New Japan, because of the ROH relationship,” he continued. “They have not blocked people from working for MLW.”
“New Japan could work with both AEW and ROH,” Meltzer concluded. “The ball really is in their court.”
