AEW News

AEW TV Deal Speculation

There has been a lot of speculation regarding a potential new television deal for AEW today. It appears likely we’ll hear what network the show will be on before Double or Nothing as the PPV could be carried on a streaming service related to the network.

The Wrap is reporting that anonymous sources are telling them Turner has agreed to terms with AEW to broadcast the show. Ryan Satin from the Pro Wrestling Sheet then Tweeted out the following:

Kofi Kingston Returning To Ghana

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will be returning home later this month. Kingston posted the following in regards to a trip to Ghana he will be taking from May 30th to June 2nd. WWE production crews will be in Ghana to film the trip for a documentary.

Lars Sullivan Situation

Here is what we know about the Lars Sullivan situation. It is alleged he made racist and homophobic statements on an online forum a little over a decade ago. WWE was aware of the comments before they signed him. Lars sent the following statement to media recently:

“There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.”

Bryan Alvarez mentioned WWE’s knowledge of the situation recently on Wrestling Observer Live:

“(WWE) knew this when they hired him. They have known this forever. They are not going to fire him,” Bryan Alvarez said. “In WWE’s minds, he did this and he apologized for it. He told them that he was wrong and that he was remorseful and in their minds, it is a done deal.”

El Desperado and Flip Gordon out of BOSJ 26

Desperado injured his jaw in a recent match and Flip Gordon has Visa issues. As a result, both have had to be replaced in the tournament. Ren Narita is replacing Gordon and Douki is Suzuki Gun’s choice to replace Desperado.
