MLW Fusion #89

This week on MLW Fusion #89, the semi-finals of the Opera Cup are set as both Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Alexander Hammerstone have advanced.

In addition to the tournament matches this week, Tom Lawlor announced that he is reforming “Team Filthy” but his announcement was interrupted by Ross Von Erich. Lawlor and Von Erich than brawled all around New York until Lawlor hopped on the subway to get away. The Von Erichs look like they will be entering a rivalry with not just Lawlor but all of the newly formed Team Filthy, though the members of this group have yet to be revealed.

The Dynasty also ran into some issues this week. Richard Holliday’s lawyer/father was not able to prevent the match between MJF and Alex Hammerstone. Both wrestlers tried to get the other one to go down for the finger poke of doom but eventually, a match took place. Hammerstone won with a powerbomb.

Priscilla Kelly aligned with Jimmy Havoc this week. Havock didn’t abide by the rules of the blindfold match by constantly taking off his mask. Priscilla Kelly then hit a low blow followed by Havoc hitting the Acid Rainmaker for the win. These two will square off again in a barbed wire match in Dallas on January 11th, 2020.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. advanced to the semi-finals of the Opera Cup by picking up the win over a former champion this week. Low-Ki locked in a submission counter to Smith’s running bulldog finish but Smith countered that into a pinning combination for the win.
