King Kong Bundy
During his WWF(E) career, King Kong Bundy was a force during the wrestling boom of the 1980s. As a member of the infamous Heenan Family, Bundy was one of Hulk Hogan’s biggest rivals during the 80s. Perhaps the highlight of his legendary career was when he wrestled Hogan inside a steel cage in the main event of WrestleMania 2.
Real name Christopher Alan Pallies, he was renamed “Big Daddy Bundy” while wrestling for World Class Wrestling Association in Texas. The Von Erich family are said to have chosen the surname of Bundy in reference to serial killer Ted Bundy. He wrestled Fritz Von Erich in Fritz’ retirement match in 1982.
Bundy would also famously request that referees in his matches count to 5 instead of 3, thus making his victories more definitive. Big E of New Day briefly used the same gimmick while wrestling as Big E Langston in NXT.
