Sammy Guevara & Kylie Rae are both expected to sign with AEW. News concerning their pending AEW signing was broken on Wrestling Observer radio earlier today.
“(MLW) were under the impression (Guevara) is going to AEW and I am under the impression that he is very likely going to AEW as well,” Dave Meltzer said. “Another name to mention for AEW is, whether it is a done deal or close, is Kylie Rae.”
Sammy Guevara had been wrestling with MLW but has not appeared for the promotion since November. Rush defeated Guevara at MLW: Fightland in what appears to be Guevara’s last match with the promotion. According to the report from WOR, Guevara canceled dates he originally confirmed for the promotion and had become hard to schedule. The 25-year-old is currently the AAA Cruiserweight Champion in Mexico.
Guevara’s name has been removed from the latest MLW Results & Rankings page to reflect his departure.
Kylie Rae wrestles frequently for AAW in Chicago. She also wrestles for RISE and toured with Stardom last July. Brandi Rhodes is heading up the AEW women’s division and has mentioned wanting to bring in wrestlers from Stardom. Brandi has also teased bringing newly signed to the rally on February 7th from Las Vegas. The promotion is expected to announce new signings and an on-sale date for Double or Nothing tickets at the event.
