This Week in Wrestling (Non-WWE): New Japan Cup, NJPW in San Jose?, more…

We tried something new this weekend. We recorded two 30-minute shows: one WWE and one non-WWE. It’s our hope that these weekend shows will catch anything we may miss during the week and provide you with everything you need to know to stay up-to-date in the world of wrestling.

With that being said, this show went longer than expected. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to several topics including ROH TV this week, previewing House of Hardcore’s show next weekend, and an update on Billy Corgan’s National Wrestling Alliance. We will try to get those out later in the week.

If you like these shows, please help support them by subscribing to our YouTube channel or sharing our articles on social media. I read a book recently and it said to keep telling you to do that, so please do.

New Japan Cup Finals Set

The biggest story this weekend in the world of pro-wrestling was the New Japan Cup. The finals are set after two big semi-final bouts on March 16th and 18th.

In the below video, we break down Juice Robinson vs Hiroshi Tanahashi and Zack Sabre Jr vs SANADA. The post also looks at what is on the line between the two wrestlers who qualified for the finals on March 21st, 2018.

Strong Style Evolved Update

We are only a week away from Strong Style Evolved and only have 3 confirmed matches. It’s likely NJPW are waiting until after the New Japan Cup to announce more matches.

We’ll be sure to update you on when new matches are officially confirmed.

Matches confirmed for Strong Style Evolved on March 25th, 2018 from the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California:

  • IWGP United States Championship
Jay White (c) vs Hangman Page
  • Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Jushin “Thunder” Liger
  • The Golden Lovers vs the Young Bucks
