Injury updates have come in for Rey Mysterio Jr as well as NJPW young lions, HIKULEO and Katsuya Kitamura.
Rey Mysterio Jr. Injury Update
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported over the weekend that Rey Mysterio Jr had suffered a torn biceps. As it turns out, the injury is less severe than originally thought. The Observer is now reporting Mysterio suffered a level 1 strained left biceps and shouldn’t miss much time at all. He likely won’t have to miss Strong Style Evolved on March 25th or any bookings over WrestleMania weekend.
HIKULEO and Katsuya Kitamura Injury Updates
Bullet Club OG young lion, HIKULEO, will miss the New Japan Cup tour after injuring his ACL. NJPW has not mentioned the type of damage to his ACL or a timetable for a return. ACL injuries usually require the person to stay off their feet completely until recovered.
On March 4, Katsuya Kitamura suffered a concussion during his tag team match. Meanwhile, on March 3 in Nagano, Hikuleo suffered damage to his right ACL. While both recover from their injuries, they will be absent from the New Japan Cup tour, which starts Friday, March 9 in Korakuen Hall.
HIKULEO tweeted out the following which is presumably a comment on his recent injury.

Similarly, Katsuya Kitamura is off the New Japan Cup. He’s dealing with the impacts of a recent concussion.
As a result, Tanga Loa will be joining the tour. Cards for March 9 in Korakuen, 10 in Nagoya, 11 in Amagasaki and 12 in Takamatsu have been changed accordingly.
Kitamura has yet to finish his 7-match trial series. It’s assumed that following Kitamura’s series it will be announced if he is to be sent on excursion.
The New Japan Cup is underway! As always, we will make sure our headlines are free from potential spoilers until 24 hours after a match has taken place.
