Sami Callihan Attacks Tom Lawlor/MLW Heavyweight Title Picture

The MLW Heavyweight title picture has several key players in action in Chicago next week. Callihan attacked Lawlor in the back at a media event recently in Chicago. He was paid off to do so by Salina De La Renta as Lawlor has a title shot owed to him as a result of winning Battle Riot. Lawlor also defeated Shane Strickland on Fusion last week. Strickland has a title match coming up with Low-Ki at Fightland with Lawlor likely taking on the winner, possibly in Miami for the December Fusion tapings.

Sami Callihan’s Hot Streak Continues

Callihan defeated Jimmy Havoc in the Spin The Wheel Make A Deal match. It’s another big win for Callihan, whose team also came up on the winning end of War Games. He might be on Salina’s payroll but at some point Callihan might be in a positition to challenge for the MLW Heavyweight title himself.

LA Park Defeats PCO

LA Park was victorious this week, defeating PCO. After the match, Park cut a promo about him and his son challenging Fenix and Pentagon for the tag titles in Chicago. El Hijo De LA Park was victorious over Sammy Guevara recently on Fusion.

Cout Bauer On MLW Relationship With Impact Wrestling

Cout Bauer addressed the promotion’s realitonship with Impact Wrestling through a series of Tweets this week.

Sad to see people attempting to spread bogus rumors about @MLW/@ImpactWrestling when there are open lines of communication (hell, @sonjaydutterson owes me dinner & @Konnan5150 works for both groups). It’s beyond ridiculous and I hesitated to even acknowledge it but I dislike lies

We all work together. Be it @DefyNW/@MLW coordinating flights and dates, AAA/MLW exploring talent swaps, etc. Sometimes there are conflicts and you work through them.
There is no us vs them. This is a new frontier. For it to work, we need to all cooperate which is happening.

Other news notes:

  • Ace Austin will debut for the promotion in Chicago on November 8th.
  • Episodes of Fusion can now be viewed on FITE.tv as well as YouTube and BeIN Sports.
  • MLW sent out the following comments regarding Samu, who is battling cancer.
  • On behalf of everyone at MLW, we want to send our send our thoughts and prayers to Samu Anoa’iwho is battling cancer. Samu hopes to be back in an MLW ring soon. The entire league is pulling for the MLW original and misses the mighty Samoan’s presence backstage.
