Golden Lovers vs Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii Top Long Beach

The main event of Sunday’s NJPW show in Long Beach will be Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi teaming up to take on Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii. Omega successfully defended the title against Ishii just 10 days ago. After doing so, Omega appeared to offer a title shot to Kota Ibuhi, who then seemed to reject the offer in favor of going back to their old promise of not facing each other.

Here’s the full lineup for the show:

Yoshi-Hashi Update

NJPW released an update on Hashi’s condition. They posted the following to NJPW1972.com:

“On September 23, during Destruction in Kobe, YOSHI-HASHI sustained a head and a left shoulder injury, and was taken to a hospital in Kobe for evaluation.

YOSHI-HASHI has since returned to Tokyo, and will proceed with treatment. YOSHI-HASHI’s return date from injury is as yet undecided.”

A report from the Wrestling Observer from yesterday basically said he’s fine, however.

Liv Morgan Update

EDIT: Late this afternoon WWE confirmed Morgan suffered a concussion.

Liv Morgan got kicked in the face by Brie Bella last night on Raw. Morgan was unable to continue the match, though the 6-person match just became 3-on-2. PW Insider is reporting she underwent concussion protocol but other than that there hasn’t been much on her condition.

The Bellas Twitter account sent the following out after Raw:

“Every match on is an opportunity for us to entertain our fans. Our intentions as @WWE Superstars is to win the match, never injure our opponents. Thinking about @YaOnlyLivvOnce tonight. “

Kofi Kingston Breaks Record For Most Days Spent As Tag Champion In WWE History

Kofi Kingston has now spent more time as a tag-team champion in WWE than any other person in history. Today marks the 954th day he’s held the title which now tops Billy Gunn’s 953. Kingston has teamed with Xavier Woods, Big E, Evan Bourne, CM Punk, and R-Truth to earn the honors.

Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks Still Off Shows

Both Bliss and Banks remain on the injured list at the moment. They have each been removed from the Mixed Match Challenge as well. WWE said Bliss was dealing with numbness in her arm last week. That may or may not be why she’s out, as they could be selling her tapping out to Ronda Rousey in her last match at Hell in a Cell. Regardless, they are both off shows at the moment.
